Five slides is a quantity, not yet a story. If each slide merely repeats part of the notes, the audience has to make the connections itself. A usable presentation, by contrast, leads from a question through evidenced observations to a next decision that is easy to understand.
ChatGPT can create files such as presentations and, depending on the interface, display them or make them available. Preview and editing options differ. Your brief should therefore describe the source data, the file type and the later use together. The club story that follows uses entirely invented details.
A question gives the slides their connection
A club looks back on three events. Our artificial list shows 40, 60 and 55 participants. There are also two notes: the rooms were different, and an additional way of registering was discussed. None of these details yet proves why the attendance figures differed.
The presentation is meant to prepare next year’s planning. That makes its purpose clearer than “annual report, modern design”. Every slide needs to contribute to this task. The figures are not merely used as a backdrop for any success story you like.
Five slides with five different jobs
Slide one introduces the planning question. Slide two shows the three values with the events they belong to. Slide three describes the observation that can be supported: the values differ. Slide four lists open questions about possible explanations. Slide five records the next step towards information or a decision.
This sequence allows a factual story without an invented cause. A heading such as “Our new registration increases attendance” would not be supported by the data given. “Which conditions should we clarify for next year?”, on the other hand, fits the question that is actually open.
Create an editable presentation with five slides.
Use only the attached artificial table and the two notes.
Goal: decision on preparing for the next club year.
One clear statement per slide and a reference to the input.
Do not invent causes, missing values or commitments.
Show open questions about explanations explicitly as open.
Add a note on the data version used.
A chart needs clear points of reference
For the attendance figures, the event, the unit and the frame of reference must be recognisable. Anyone who sees only three bars without labels can reliably understand neither their order nor their meaning. A visible number complements the graphic and helps with precise comparison.
Also avoid a change of message between chart and title. If the graphic shows differences, the heading must not turn them into an unverified explanation. The same applies to missing data: a value that was not collected is not a zero. How it is handled must fit the input and, if in doubt, be explained.
Look at the delivery outside the chat preview
Open the actual presentation in the intended application. Look at long labels, line breaks and whether important elements can be edited. As a test, change an artificial value or an open question. A good chat preview does not yet prove how the file behaves when you continue working on it like this.
If your team is later supposed to update the figures, state this requirement in the brief from the outset. A single flat image of all the content would be a different deliverable from separately editable text and charts. You check which form of editing you have actually received in the file itself.
Request a revision closely tied to the finding
A sensible change request reads: “On slide four, shorten the second question; its uncertainty is kept. All figures remain unchanged.” You can then compare the affected slide and the unchanged values in a targeted way. A wholesale redesign would create more checking work.
Keep the previous version and the authoritative version of the input. The next person should be able to tell which file to use. No presentation was generated for this article; what is described is a delivery and checking contract of our own. Its aim is an understandable story whose statements remain traceable even without the original chat.
