Local AI or an online service? Don't decide by the label. Decide by your task. First, the task: define what goes in, what should come out, and who checks the result. Then the data path: check whether a tool uses cloud models, accounts or network requests. The word local alone doesn't answer that. And compare on a small scale: test both options on the same task, and note what stays open.
